Basic 256 is limited for maximun lines of code? (Program Bug and Problems)

by Krafen @, Sunday, October 23, 2011, 10:23 (2045 days ago)

I building a program with Basic 256.
Surprise, i found thet after line 4814 the software found a syntax error:

Syntax error on line 4814 around column 23.

No matter what in this line there is, it says always the same error.
Is a limit of the software? I know Basic256 is written for kids, but i find it very simple and useful for doing my applications.
There is a way to resolve my problem? thank you

I found that, anyway, any line above 5000 is read as error :(

mmm. I do not think anybody has ever pushed the program size quite that big. I will look at the yacc/bison compiler code and see if there is some type of limit.

I did just put a simple test program together and found the same issue with a program over 3100 lines or so.

If you put a long series of "Print 100", your software found the error at the line 5000. I did not still understood why this limit is lowered using other commands.
Your program is awesome couse his simplicity, we can do mucth more than Pong games with it. This limitation is really a pity.

Thank you, I hope you will can solve the issue.
At the moment I think I will have to use Basic256 for the visualizations (very, very easy), reading data files created with Gambas (witch graphics is non-understandable by me).

Great job, anyway.

I think I will use the net commands to split the routine in more little subprograms to be ran in different launched Basic256s.
