0.9.9.68 - Are we ready for the 1.0.0 release???? (Release Announcements)

Hey all,

I have cleaned up a floating point bug and added the CONTINUE and EXIT statements to DO FOR and WHILE. I believe that we are ready to call this 1.0 and stop making changes that break old code. What think you all??

I am also working on a second edition of my book to go along with 1.0 and to incorporate subroutines/functions and many of the little changes. It will be Winter or Spring before it is done, but...

Check out the new version at sourceforge and let me know.

The only thing I would add is a support for libraries, so everyone can code a set of functions, put them in an external file and simply import or easily share with others when needed.

Regards! :)

Prix,

Hey, just added an include statement to the SVN (0.9.9.69). Still testing and working out a few other little issues but it will be in 1.0.0 soon.

Is there any change on the "won't build on OSX" front?

No, I have no news on the MAC. As I don't have one it is hard for me to do anything. Have you figured it out??

From googing the error you are getting it seems to be a 64 bit linker difference in the c++ code than the old 32 bit linker. Can you set a flag (probably in the BASIC256.pro) to force a 32 bit compile?

I am going to ask around on my campus if I can find a MAC programmer type...

Will post back in a few.
